OUR STORY

Andy- June 29th, 2011 was just a typical Wednesday. After working that day I had decided to be somewhat spiritual and attend Institute, something that I would do on occasion. After institute concluded I was waiting in line for a tasty sweet roll with a friend, Jeremy Colbert, behind another friend, Rachel Ballington. I believe Jeremy and I were goofing around about nothing in particular when Rachel turns to me and says that she has a friend that she wanted to set me up with. I said, "cool". I had never been set up on a blind date before. I was pretty excited, though I hid my emotions because well that's just how I am, not very demonstrative when it comes  to emotions. So, she gives me the phone number of the lucky girl and asks if I want to see a picture of her. In this age of technology with her smart phone she could turn the Blind date into a ...not-so-blind date. I politely declined, thinking to myself that if this was gonna be a blind date then i was gonna make it a REAL blind date. I called this girl the next day and set up a date. We went out, had a lovely time and the rest is history. By history I mean that when i picked her up from her hotel I thought she was cute. By the end of the date I thought she was gorgeous and wanted to date her more...so I did.

Our matchmaker, Rachel Ballington.
Emily- June 27th, 2011 was just a typical Monday.  I was over at Rachel Ballingtons house telling her about my lack of interest in men when she seemed to have an epiphany and said,"I wonder if you would like my friend Andy....is it okay if I give him your number?" She then proceeded to show me a picture of him on her phone but I couldn't really tell what he looked like because he was dressed up as a gaucho wearing a poncho and fake mustache.  I agreed to let Rachel give him my number not because I was looking for a relationship, but simply because I had only recently moved to Provo and was in need of friends....and it seemed like a fun idea.  A couple days later, on Wednesday the 29th my house had a kitchen fire and I had to move into a hotel temporarily with one of my roommates.  It was this night than Rachel called to tell me that she had given Andy my number and that he was going to call me soon. On Friday Andy called me while I was in class so I didn't answer.  After class I saw that he left me a message so I listened to it and analyzed his voice.  I must admit that I thought that his voice had a nice tone to it, but I made an immediate judgment that he sounded like a player. Not that I cared, I could be friends with a player.  I called him back and we decided to go out that next Wednesday July 6th.  Wednesday came and he called me to ask where I lived so he could come pick me up.  I told him that I was currently living at the La Quinta Inn in Orem and that I would tell him why later. When he arrived at the hotel I walked outside to see him leaning against his car with his arms folded waiting for me(However,Andy just read this and said he was sitting on the trunk of his car with his arms by his sides). I thought he was attractive but had already made up my mind that I most likely would not be interested in dating this guy.  He took me to The Chocolate which is a dessert cafe where we ate cake...this was a good decision on his part because if anyone knows me they know that I absolutely love sweets, especially baked goods.  Because I wasn't worried about impressing him, I was able to be myself (which may have contributed to him loving me so much). By the end of the date I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed Andy's company and from that point on we were inseparable.
